From our family ranch to you.
The Casey family ranching tradition on the central coast spans more than a century of land and livestock stewardship.
As a young Irish emigrant, Jeremiah Casey arrived in Southern Monterey County in 1861 and started homesteading and ranching. He raised beef and finished them on grass and marketed them as best he could, given the limited resources of the day.
We continue the same style of beef husbandry today.
Cattle are raised in a natural, free range environment, in beautiful southern Monterey County, California, and are never given growth hormones, antibiotics or subjected to pesticides or herbicides. They are never fed grain and are always humanely treated.

It's Good for the Land
Sustainable, holistic, stewardship, regenerative, rotational, intensive... there are many words for the concept of "doing your best to take care of the land so it takes care of you and future generations."
Our goal is to use grazing techniques that allow for the overall health of the animal, and improvement of soil and forage whenever possible. Often this means short duration, high density grazing plans. This allows for maximum rest and recovery of the plants/soil, and will better capture and utilize available moisture and promote healthy regrowth.

Grass Fed Beef Cooking Tips
Nutritious, delicious grass fed beef is significantly more lean than grain fed beef. This makes it a healthy choice, but if you are an inexperienced grass fed chef you will definitely want to approach it with a new mindset!
With less fat the meat cooks more quickly (30% faster!) so in order to preserve that unique flavor, character and richness you have to be careful not to let it dry out due to overcooking.
